I find varied dichotomy on free enterprise very intriguing...
It's principles & disciplines should be taught in every single high school. Our kids should be exposed to free enterprise principles at a very early age.
There's ONLY one problem.
It doesn't exist anymore.
Free enterprise is as existent in this country & in our economy as the abominable snowman is at the North Pole. What you see touted in politics?? The "principles" you hear in written town hall speeches?? Gone like the wind.
(Well, Jeff. What do we see?? What is present??)
It's a term I like to call -- a FIXED enterprise system. And it DAMN SURE AIN'T FREE.
Trust me. I know FREE when I see it -- and THIS crap they call "free enterprise" ain't it...
If it was free?? You wouldn't have banks "too big to fail", therefore holding Wall Street...and ultimately Washington D.C. hostage. Every single piece of legislation is tied to a Wall Street lover's pockets. Literally.
If it was free?? You wouldn't LITERALLY & FIGURATIVELY have politicians bought & paid for by lobbyists. For every member of Congress, you have 8 lobbyists. Their ONLY assignment?? Washington D.C. Nothing else. Their desk IS the halls of Congress & on Capitol Hill. Yes, that word again - literally.
If it was free?? You wouldn't have loopholes in the tax code the size of the Superdome.
(Here's that word again...)
You LITERALLY have houses...not official offices....HOUSES in Wyoming that are full of mailboxes, mailslots, etc...and an inhabitant, err..."secretary" that houses these tax havens for multi-national corporations.
You LITERALLY have gaping craters in our Trade Agreements that allow a section of land...a la, the Panama Canal to be "exempt" from said trade agreements. Guess where "corporate offices" of the aforementioned multi-national corporations reside??
You LITERALLY see the U.S. Treasury set their rates at 0% until 2014. Guess who can "speculate" to their heart's content, knowing full well there's NO danger in sight, due to the fact that rates won't change for 3 years...at least??
Wall Street.
Sensing a theme here??
Even in total collapse. Historic unemployment levels. Utter uncertainty. All out depression.
Who got bailed out??
Wall Street.
Who allowed this??
Politicians -- paid off by who??
Wall Street.
The same "politicians" that are crying foul on debt -- let these crooks off scot-free.
Wanna know what' wrong with politics??
Do I need to repeat the source??
Do I need to tell you how we can fix this??
(I'll tell you for the hell of it. I don't have anywhere to be right now anyway...)
Until we rid politics of campaign contributions?? I mean - yes, here comes that word again - LITERALLY enact a Constitutional amendment BANNING money from political campaigns - until we do that as a country, as a people, as AMERICANS...
We will continue to be at the mercy of deeper forces, with deeper pockets & less than ideal intentions...
And for those that recite the Bible at every single turn?? That very book has a saying in it that speaks volumes...
The love of MONEY is the root of ALL evil...
Well ain't that prophetic :)
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many [e]acute [mental] pangs.
